One man on a mission to fix the broken protein snack industry
I’ve played football my whole life and health has always mattered to me. So when every “high-protein snack” I grabbed was packed with sugar, seed oils and preservatives, I knew I had to do something.
At the end of 2024, I quit a comfortable 6-figure job which didn't fulfil me to launch Thryvl. In mid 2025 we started selling our clean, high-protein biltong and haven't looked back since.
It hasn’t been easy and I’m nowhere near replacing the income I walked away from, but the mission matters more.
Today, Thryvl is still just me — sourcing the beef, making the product, packing every order and answering every message.
